Cain and Abel

Sometimes when we read the Bible, we wonder why God cared about some of the things He cared about.  The story of Cain and Abel is one of those stories for some people.

A long time ago, just after Adam and Eve had to leave the garden of Eden, they were very sad about disobeying God.  They asked God how they could show Him how sorry they were.  God told them that they could show Him how they felt by sacrificing a lamb, which they did.

Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego

This is a story about a King and three brave men, all with really strange names.  The king's name is Nebuchadnezzar and the three men were known as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  They lived in a place called Babylon and the three men worked for the king and had important jobs for the province of Babylon.

Hannah - The Mother of Samuel

This story is about a woman named Hannah who really really wanted to have a child.  Every year she would go with her husband to a place called Shiloh.

While they were there, there would be a big festival and everyone would celebrate all that God did for them.  They would thank God for their crops and everything God gave them, and give sacrifices or presents to God to show how thankful they were.

The Good Samaritan

This next parable started with a man asking Jesus a question.  The man who asks Jesus a question is very smart and was maybe trying to trick Jesus and see if he was a good teacher or not.  This is what he asked, "Teacher, what should I do so I can go to Heaven and live forever?"

Jesus replied, "What is written in the Bible?  What do you think?"  The man answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself."

Jesus Heals The Man With Leprosy

Today's story can be found in the first three books of the New Testament in the Bible.  Matthew, Mark and Luke are also the names of three men that either heard about the story or were there to see the miracle for themselves and then wrote about it.

This story is about a man with leprosy.  So what is leprosy?

Leprosy is a disease that is caused by bacteria.  Mostly people that live in poor areas, have dirty water,  food with little vitamins and aren't healthy to begin with can get it.
