This story is about a woman named Hannah who really really wanted to have a child.  Every year she would go with her husband to a place called Shiloh.

While they were there, there would be a big festival and everyone would celebrate all that God did for them.  They would thank God for their crops and everything God gave them, and give sacrifices or presents to God to show how thankful they were.

Ruth and Naomi

In a place called Moab there lived a nice family.  Elimelech, his wife Naomi and their two sons moved there because there was more food there than where they used to live.  After a while Elimelech died but Naomi wasn't alone she still had two sons.

Her sons got married but after about ten years they died too.  At least Naomi still had her sons wives to keep her company, their names were Orpah and Ruth.

This is a parable or a story Jesus told to teach a lesson to us.  The parable of the unmerciful servant is...wait a minute!  What does unmerciful mean?

To have mercy is to have compassion on people that are miserable or to show love to people that are unhappy.  So the unmerciful servant didn't show any love or care towards someone who needed it.

Today's story is about a man many people didn't like.  They called him a sinner, which is funny because aren't we all sinners?  Don't we all make mistakes and do things we shouldn't?
