Esther was an orphan who was brought up by her older cousin, Mordecai. In Chapter one of the book of Esther we are introduced to king Xerxes who decided to display his abundant wealth for 180 days. As if not enough, it is followed by a seven day feast. 
A lavish display of his power indeed.

Samson and Delilah

The story of Samson begins because the Israelites were once again getting into trouble with God.  The Israelites just couldn't seem to stay out of trouble for very long.  Even after God saved them from the Egyptians, helped them through the Red Sea, and miraculously sent manna from the sky to feed them, they still complained.  Even when Moses went to get the Ten Commandments these people started worshipping another god.

How Did Moses Cross the Red Sea?

God led the Israelites out of Egypt by what appeared to be a pillar of fire. The fire became a pillar of cloud during the day.
